In 2016, Mario Rodwald, multiple Freestyle European Champion from Kiel, his own kiteboard brand.
Mario does not aim to become the largest kiteboard manufacturer: he wants to improve the kite market by Kiteboards produced in an environmentally friendly and CO2-neutral way.
KOLD shapes boards are produced exclusively in Europe, which allows for much better monitoring of production and thus makes it easier to make it environmentally friendly.
The products
The The Polar II is an all-round kiteboard that glides very quickly and travels upwind very well. Hardly any kiteboard on the market is as versatile as the Polar II. Whether you're just cruising around or making a few jumps, the Polar II performs well everywhere. The soft flex of the board is also pleasant. Polar II, so you have a high level of riding comfort even in choppy conditions .
For more athletic kitesurfers, Kold Shapes launched the Horizon a short time later. This board features a significantly stiffer flex and more rocker. It's perfect for freestyle/wakestyle, as well as for heavier riders .
Another specialty of KOLD shapes is kitesurfing boards. After a long development period, the first to be released was the strapless Statement. The Statement is the ideal surfboard for the smaller North Sea waves. Like all other Kold Shapes kiteboards, it is manufactured in Europe.
The Legend now completes the surfboard line for the "big wave" sector, and the Statement II is a more robust second version of the Statement.
The high level of environmental awareness also extends to the packaging – the boards are always wrapped in paper.
